About Art of CleaNest — Edmonton’s Honest Cleaning Team

Our story

I left a career of back-to-back meetings to do work that actually changed someone’s day.

Hi, I’m Taya Pushkar. I founded Art of CleaNest in May 2019, and I still personally onboard every new client. Here’s what we do, why we do it, and how we got here.

Why I started Art of CleaNest

I spent years in a corporate job in Edmonton. Long meetings, longer commutes, the slow feeling of going from calendar block to calendar block without ever quite making something tangible. I’d come home and the house would be a mess and I’d feel one more layer of tired about it. Eventually I started thinking about what work would feel like if I could see a result by the end of every shift.

The first version of Art of CleaNest was me with a vacuum, a caddy of supplies, and three clients who were friends-of-friends in Glenora. They told other people. By 2020 I had to hire help. By 2022 we’d moved past the point where one person could handle the books, the cleaning, and the customer service all in the same day. Today there is a small team and a steady stream of clients I’m proud to work for.

Every time we walk into a client’s home, I feel like we are on a rescue mission. Not a dramatic one. Just the small kind. Someone comes home from a hard day, opens the door, and the place smells right. The floors feel clean under bare feet. The kitchen does not have last night’s dishes glaring at them. That moment is what I get to make, over and over, for a living. I love it.

Clean home, clean mind. Organised thoughts, happier life. That’s the whole philosophy.

How we’re different from other Edmonton cleaning companies

I’ll be honest about this. There are three differences that matter, and I won’t claim more than three because most companies overclaim and customers see through it.

1. The same lead cleaner each visit, whenever we can

Big-franchise cleaning companies cycle through staff. The person who cleans your kitchen this week is different from the person next week, and neither of them knows that you keep the kettle on the second shelf or that the cat panics when the dryer runs. We try hard to keep the same lead cleaner assigned to each recurring client. When that’s not possible, the backup gets a briefing before they walk in.

2. We answer the phone (or call you back fast)

If you call (587) 784-6020 during business hours, you get a person. If you call outside business hours, you’ll usually get a callback the same evening or first thing in the morning. No 1-800 dispatcher. No call centre. Just me, or someone on the team, who actually knows the schedule.

3. We don’t pretend cleaning is fancier than it is

We don’t talk about “concierge” or “luxury” or “white-glove.” It’s cleaning. It’s hard work done well by people who care. If we’re a good fit, you’ll feel it within ten minutes of the first visit, and you won’t need our marketing to convince you.

Who we work best with

This part is for honesty’s sake. Most of our recurring clients are dual-income families in southwest and west Edmonton: Windermere, Glenora, Riverbend, Oleskiw, Cameron Heights, Rio Terrace, and Sturgeon Valley up in St. Albert. They’re busy with kids, work, soccer, piano, and would rather have us in for four hours every other week than spend a Saturday morning on baseboards.

We also do well with Airbnb hosts who care about reviews, real estate professionals booking move-out cleans before listings go live, and one ongoing office contract in west Edmonton. We’re currently accepting a small number of additional commercial clients in 2026, including dental clinics, daycares, and small offices.

If you’re price-shopping at the bottom of the market, we will probably not be the right fit. We’re not the cheapest cleaner in Edmonton. We are, by most accounts, one of the most reliable ones.

The trust signals you probably want to see

Cleaning is one of those services where customers reasonably want to know who they’re letting into their home. So here are the actual numbers and certifications, written out plainly:

  • Founded: May 20, 2019. Incorporated in Alberta as Art of CleaNest Inc.
  • Alberta business number: 705553618. Corporate number 2025713021.
  • City of Edmonton business licence: 496064476-001.
  • Liability insurance: $2,000,000 CAD through Sandbox Mutual Insurance.
  • WCB Alberta coverage: account #9809969, active on every team member.
  • Google rating: 5.0★ on Google.
  • Insurance certificate (COI): available on request, sent directly to landlords, building managers, or property management companies.

About the team

We currently run with a small roster of trained contractors. Everyone goes through a background check, a paid trial visit alongside a senior cleaner, and an onboarding pass on our checklist before they ever go into a client’s home alone. We pay above the going Edmonton rate because, in the long run, paying people fairly is the cheapest way to keep service consistent.

If you’re curious about joining the team, we’re hiring carefully. Send us a note with some context on your experience and we’ll be in touch.

What I tell every new client

Two things. First: book the deep clean for your first visit. Recurring cleans are designed to maintain a clean home, not to bring a home back from “we haven’t really scrubbed the baseboards in two years.” If we start with a deep clean, every recurring visit after it costs less in time and feels more thorough.

Second: tell us what matters to you. If you cannot stand fingerprints on stainless steel, tell us. If you have a corner of the basement that gets dusty and bothers you, tell us. We have a custom-checklist field for every recurring client and we use it. Our regular checklist is good. Your checklist is better.

Thank you for reading this far. If you’d like to work together, the booking form is here, or you can call me directly at (587) 784-6020. I’d be happy to hear about your home.

What we stand for

Three commitments. Every visit. Every client.

Caring

We notice small things. We’re gentle around your pets. We re-fold the couch throw the way you had it. The difference between a fast clean and a careful one is whether someone thought about your home as a home.

Reliable

On time. Communicative. Predictable invoices. We treat cleaning as a craft you can build a real business on, not a side hustle that flakes out when a better-paying job comes along.

Trusted

$2M liability insurance, WCB-covered, every team member background-checked. The certificate of insurance is available on request. The guarantee is in writing.
